Job Description
KIPP Charlotte teachers and teacher assistants are at the core of our mission to help students develop the knowledge, skills, and character strengths needed to succeed throughout their education and in the competitive world beyond. This role will lead small group instruction in Reading or Math to support the work ELA or Math teachers are doing in the classroom. They will meet with students who are struggling in Reading or Math throughout the week to provide additional instructional and academic help, supporting students to grow. Compensation
This position is compensated at $17 / hour and works up to 29 hours / week. Since this is a part-time position, benefits are not included.

- Help to adapt and execute a rigorous, standards-aligned curriculum
- Support teachers as they develop academically rigorous lessons, unit plans, rubrics and assessments
- Provide students with daily feedback on performance and plan for individual learning needs
- Receive guidance and materials from ELA / Math teachers on how to best support students who are struggling
- Embody and maintain school's values, policies and culture
- Develop positive relationships with students, families, teachers and staff
- Establish and maintain strong communication with all parents and share progress
- Show up for critical school events, including: staff meetings, open houses, parent teacher conferences and more
- Pursue challenging professional goals each year
- Give and receive positive and constructive feedback with your colleagues
- Participate in school-wide and individual professional development

Qualifications
The following are required of all KIPP Charlotte teacher assistants:
- A Bachelor's Degree
- Pass Criminal Background Check
- Demonstrated commitment to closing the opportunity gap
- Zest, grit, professionalism, and a sense of humor
The following are not required but are advantageous for candidates:
- At least 1 year of experience as a Teacher's Assistant
- Experience in teaching in a high performing charter school and/or schools with a high population of students with free and reduced lunch
- Fluency in Spanish
