Description

Dallas ISD seeks Applications Software Developer working with Oracle R12 HR-Payroll modules, including Human Resources, Payroll, Compensation, Benefits, Labor Distribution, Employee Self Service, Manager Self Service using SQL, PL/SQL, TOAD, Oracle Forms/Reports and Oracle OAF customization /extensions.



Specific duties include the following:

  • Develop, create, and modify general computer applications software or specialized utility programs.
  • Modify existing software to correct errors, allow it to adapt to new hardware, and/or improve its performance.
  • Design, develop and modify software systems, using scientific analysis and mathematical models to predict and measure outcome and consequences of design.
  • Identify complex problems and review related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.
  • Write computer programs in Oracle Applications environment.
  • Determine how Oracle Apps system should work and how changes in conditions, operations, and the environment will affect outcomes.
  • Analyze user needs and software requirements to determine feasibility of design within time and cost constraints.
  • Design and customize software for client use with the aim of optimizing operational efficiency.
  • Confer with systems analysts, engineers, programmers and others to design systems and to obtain information on project limitations and capabilities, performance requirements and interfaces.
  • Identify measures or indicators of system performance and the actions needed to improve or correct performance, relative to the goals of the system.
  • Analyze the relative costs and benefits of potential actions to choose the most appropriate one.
  • Develop, design, and/or create new applications, ideas, relationships, systems, or products, including artistic contributions.
  • Develop and direct software system testing and validation procedures, programming, and documentation.
  • Develop testing routines and/or procedures.
  • Develop performance metrics or standards related to information technology.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or its foreign equivalent, in Computer Engineering, or related field
  • 5 years' experience in applicable Oracle R12 HR-Payroll modules, and Oracle OAF customization and extensions.
