SUMMARY:
Executive directors supervise and coach principals in reviewing school data and supporting strategies that promote student growth through the Strategic School Improvement Process and site visits. Additionally, the ED's engage in collaborative discussions around leadership and instructional practices aligned to classroom walkthroughs, school visits, and school data. They manage district systems such as administrative transfers and placements, retentions & accelerations, as well as collaborate with student services in regards to student issues at the school level. Additionally, executive directors sit on district committees that work to serve the district system. Executive directors have a high level of understanding of the schools in their network and work with the Area Superintendents to deploy resources that support and align to school data.  

RESPONSIBILITIES:
-Supervise, coach and evaluate PK-12 principals
-Monitor progress toward school improvement implementation benchmarks and performance targets
-Support the development of instructional leadership capacities
-Monitor and support implementation of strategic plan initiatives at schools
-Communicate and problem-solve with administrators, teachers, parents and community members to provide a highly effective and welcoming school environment through school visits, phone calls, emails, staff meetings, parent/community meetings and principal meetings
-Respond to and provide assistance to individual school sites in addressing problems and issues specific to the site, including school safety
-Provide engaging professional development for building and network instructional leaders
-Provide guidance/training promoting effective school improvement planning to achieve strategic outcomes and student success
-With the Area Superintendent, coordinate and facilitate district level work that impacts schools
-With the Area Superintendent, allocate staffing for schools 
-Provide oversight for the administrative transfer process for schools
-Represent BVSD in the community
-Work with the Director of Human Resources on all personnel matters

QUALIFICATIONS:
Required Skills:

-Colorado Principal/Administrator/Director or Superintendent License
-Master's Degree
-Three years of building administration experience or central office administrative leadership experience
-Completed BVSD Online Application including background checks

Preferred:
-Three years PK-12 classroom teaching experience
-Experience in central administration leadership role
-Evidence of success in positively impacting student outcomes
-Evidence of commitment to diversity and equity in professional background
-Ability to coach employees towards stronger performance
-Knowledge of student assessment and data analysis for continuous improvement
-Understanding of Emerging Bilinguals and appropriate programming
-Understanding of Special Education services and legal requirements
-Knowledge of best instructional practices
-Strong planning, organization, motivation, management, supervision, and evaluation skills
-Strong written and verbal communication skills with internal and external audiences
-Experience with MTSS and Standards-Based Teaching and Learning
-Knowledge of school-based budget/planning
-Demonstrated skills in facilitation, problem-solving, and conflict management
-Strong instruction, leadership, and staff development skills
-Knowledge of continuous improvement, professional learning communities and other current trends and issues in education
-Knowledge of and ability to successfully lead complex change

Employment is contingent upon successful completion of the post-offer screening process, including a background check.

SALARY:  Range 18:  $114,645 - $171,968 (2020-2021 salary schedule – based on experience); excellent benefit package. 

EFFECTIVE DATE:  July 1, 2021
