JOB TITLE: Director of Support Services & Athletics/Title IX Coordinator
JOB GOAL: The Director of Support Services and Athletics develops, coordinates, and supervises the School safety, security, district athletic programs and coordinates student discipline district-wide.

JOB GOAL: The Director of Support Services and Athletics develops, coordinates, and supervises the School safety, security, district athletic programs and coordinates student discipline district-wide.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Master Degree and Administrative Coursework in Education Related Field
- Appropriate Arizona administrative certification
- Demonstrated classroom teaching ability: minimum three years teaching experience preferred
- Knowledge of standards and researched-based instruction
- Successful administrative experience
- Required to pass criminal background check
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsibilities shall include, but not be limited to, the following:
Athletics
- Develops, maintains, and supervises an effective athletic program
- Identifies and communicates the district philosophy of athletics, intra-mural, physical education to all publics
- Ensures athletic programs are evaluated at the end of each season and assess and develop recommendations to make them more effective and timely
- Develops and maintains athletic budgets and inventories
- Supports athletic programs with material and technical resources
- Oversees in the recruitment, selection, and evaluation of qualified coaching personnel.
- Investigates complaints affecting the athletic program
- Assists in the organization of regular pre- and post-season meetings with coaches and community
- Coordinates meetings with all coaches to review bylaws, including volunteer coaches
- Compiles and maintains written records and reports, and disseminates this information appropriately to coaches, school administrators, district personnel, Governing Board, and other agencies
- Attends Governing Board meetings when items related to athletics are scheduled and prepare any reports requested by administration
- Supervises the development of an athletic and coaches handbook
- Updates district policy and practices regarding any Arizona Revised Statute updates or Arizona Interscholastic Association and East Valley Conference changes
- Promotes support through booster clubs, recognition awards, and other marketing techniques.
- Provides information to the media in cooperation with the district Director of Community Relations
- Develops and maintains effective, accurate communications with all publics regarding athletic policies, procedures, activities, and programs
- Attends local division, conference, state, regional, and national meetings related to athletics; serve as AIA representative for the district
Student Discipline
- Conducts discipline training for District Administrators, Deans, Counselors as needed
- Coordinates all Long Term Suspensions and appeals
- Serves as a resource person to district administrators on disciplinary issues
- Investigates complaints regarding site-based discipline
- Responsible for the coordination of all alternative placements
- Compiles and maintains discipline records and reports, and disseminates this information appropriately to school administrators, district personnel, Governing Board, and other agencies when appropriate
- Assists in review and updating district policy in terms of student discipline
- Compiles, manages, and submits the annual state report regarding discipline
- Serves as the Superintendent's designee for all student grievances and disciplinary actions
- Coordinates district PBIS program
District/Community Relations
- Maintains communication with other agencies and school districts to share and receive information of effective practices and extended support
- Serves as Title IX Coordinator for student and employee grievances and disciplinary actions.
- Coordinates district safety and security initiatives
- Responds to parent and community complaints/concerns
