The School Board of the Lamoille South Unified Union (LSUU), VT invites highly qualified and forward- thinking candidates to apply for the position of Superintendent of Schools. With a combined population of about 11,000 residents, three towns in Lamoille County, Vermont (Elmore, Morristown and Stowe) make up the Lamoille South Unified Union. LSUU is located in the lush Green Mountain area of northern Vermont approximately 45 miles east of Burlington. The towns make the most of their natural setting and are considered a premier four-season destination. They are renowned for their alpine recreation, mountain biking, hiking, festivals, shopping and dining opportunities.

Lamoille South Unified Union has a proud and well-deserved reputation for excellence in public education. LSUU is a comprehensive PreK-12 system that serves 1,653 students and comprises seven public schools: Stowe Elementary School, Morristown Elementary School, Stowe Middle School, Peoples Academy Middle Level, Stowe High School, Peoples Academy, and the Elmore School, Vermont’s last one-room schoolhouse.  Each is dedicated to providing a rigorous, well-rounded educational experience for every student. The FY21 school district operating budget is $32 million.

• Proven focus on academic excellence and whole child education
• Demonstrated support for every learner to achieve his or her full potential
• Strong community outreach and communication skills
• A visible presence in the schools and community
• A commitment to advancing equity in education

The Lamoille South Unified Union School Board is prepared to offer a contract with a regionally competitive salary, commensurate with qualifications and experience. The deadline for submitting applications is March 26, 2021, with preliminary interviews scheduled thereafter. The start date for this position is July 1, 2021.
