Mother McAuley Liberal Arts High School, sponsored by the Mercy Educational System of the Americas (MESA), is a Catholic college preparatory, all female high school, located on the southwest side of Chicago. In the tradition of the Sisters of Mercy and their foundress, Catherine McAuley, we prepare students to live in a complex, dynamic society by teaching them to think critically, communicate effectively, respond compassionately to the needs of their community and assume roles of Christian leadership. We are seeking a full-time Assistant Director of Alumnae Relations & Development.
The Alumnae Relations and Development Office advances Mother McAuley's mission and its institutional priorities through striving for increased philanthropic support by engaging alumnae, families, friends, staff, students, and corporations and foundations. The alumnae community is currently 28,000 strong.
Summary: The Assistant Director of Alumnae Relations & Development functions in accordance with the policies and procedures of Mother McAuley High School. This position is directly accountable to the Director of Alumnae Relations & Development and works cooperatively with members of the Institutional Advancement Team.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Secures alumnae support for relationship building, fundraising and recruiting within the broader McAuley and St. Xavier Academy community.
- Plans alumnae calendar related to responsibilities and functions of the Alumnae Office.
- Coordinates working committees to support the implementation of Alumnae events.
- Identifies, recruits, coordinates and recognizes volunteers who work with various alumnae projects and events.
- Coordinates targeted programs to appeal to specific alumnae groups, i.e. art, theater, athletics, liturgies.
- Implements student involvement plan related to legacy students, graduates, and seniors.
- Lead and execute student giving program.
- Develops ideas and gathers news and alumnae information for alumnae print publications, website and social media in collaboration with the Director of Marketing and Communications.
- Maintains correspondence with alumnae via notes, sympathy cards, get well wishes, letters, e-mail, social media.
- Assists database manager with maintenance of records.
- Assists with development and implementation of the annual appeal.
- Bachelor's Degree
- One to three years of previous experience
- Excellent writing and public speaking skills
- Strong event management skills
- Proficient computer skills, including MS Word, Excel, Google Mail, constituent database management & social media.
