STOWE HIGH SCHOOL, VERMONT

The Superintendent and School Board of the Lamoille South Unified Union, Vermont are actively seeking a dynamic and visionary educational leader to serve as Stowe High School Principal, effective July 1, 2021.

Stowe, a world-class mountain resort town in north-central Vermont, is located about 10 miles north of I-89 and just 45 minutes east of Burlington, the state's largest city. The towns of Morristown, Elmore and Stowe make up the Lamoille South Unified Union. Three of the union’s public schools are located in the town of Stowe: Stowe Elementary School, Stowe Middle School, and Stowe High School. The mission of the Lamoille South Unified Union is to support students as effective communicators, thinkers, problem-solvers, and responsible citizens as they learn in the classroom, community and beyond. Strong school-community partnerships are fundamental to the success of the students, schools and vibrant communities.  Students benefit from a range of opportunities including experiences with cultural arts and outdoor programs. 

Stowe High School (Grades 9-12, enrollment 228) recognizes that each student is an individual, that all students are creative, and that all students need to succeed. ESSENTIAL JOB REQUIREMENTS FOR THE NEW PRINCIPAL

  • Licensure or eligibility for a license as a Principal in Vermont
  • An innovative educational leader and experienced high school leader
  • Experienced with recruitment, selection, supervision, and evaluation of faculty and staff
  • Experienced with secondary school scheduling and resource management
  • Substantial knowledge of special education, 504, and other educational laws and requirements
  • Experience using student performance and other data to improve student outcomes
  • Great interpersonal and communication skills, and technologically proficient
  • Will ensure a safe, successful, and diverse learning community
  • Leads the effort to provide fort the social, emotional, intellectual and physical needs of every student
  • Works with the broader community to ensure that students develop lifelong skills enabling them to be contributing and productive members of society. 

The Lamoille South Unified Union offers a competitive salary and benefits package, commensurate with experience. Review of applications will begin on March 8, 2021. The expected start date for the new Principal is July 1, 2021.
