Essential Functions and Objectives:

The Occupational Physical Therapist Technician Paraprofessional supports licensed Occupational/Physical Therapists with the provision of motor therapy services for primarily special education students ranging in age from 3 -21.

May assist the therapist with daily treatment documentation, manual therapy, positioning, data collection, and caseload data.

Knowledge, Experience & Other Qualifications:

2 or more years of related experience is preferred.

Education Requirements:

Copy of official/unofficial transcript(s) verifying at least 48 semester hours, Associate's, or Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university (All foreign transcripts must be evaluated by a member of the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services. You do not need a course-by-course, just a basic evaluation. Visit www.naces.org for approved service members).

OR

Copy of high school diploma or GED and proof of passing the TABE D Adult Education Test for Reading and Math.

OR

Copy of high school diploma or GED and proof of passing the WorkKeys exam in reading for information and applied mathematics. Score of 4 or higher in both is required.

OR

Copy of high school diploma or GED and SAT scores (within the last 5 years). Score of Minimum 500+ in Math and 470+ in Reading is required.

OR

Copy of high school diploma or GED and proof of passing EDReady exams for Reading and Math. Score of 21 or higher in Reading and a score of 25 or higher in Math is required.

Testing is available at the Emily Griffith Testing Center for $15.00

- Testing is available by walk-in during the following hours (offices are closed most holidays - check the hours on their website before visiting)

Required Scores are:

- Reading Score: 536 or higher

- Math Score: 547 or higher

Testing Information for EdReady:

- Testing is available online at https://emilygriffith.edready.org/home for free.

- Set-up and account. In the College Program of Interest field, enter: paraprofessional. Once your account has been created, enter the case-sensitive Para Pathways keycode: para2020

- Complete the diagnostic exams. There is no time limit and you may complete the exams in multiple sittings. If you meet the minimum scores, you will receive a congratulatory email. If you do not meet the minimum scores, you will be required to complete online learnings and assessments until you meet the minimum scores.

Required Scores are:

-Rearding Score: 21 or higher

-Math Score: 35 or higher
