The Executive Secretary, Substitute Coordinator performs administrative duties of a complex nature, working independently and proactively, anticipating needs, and following through, often within tight deadlines. Responsibilities include the recruitment, selection, orientation, assignment, and coordination of the district's substitute teachers and support staff; assisting schools with their substitute needs; appropriate handling of confidential and sensitive materials; coordination of general HR communications and projects; and, the management of difficult situations with skill, patience, and diplomacy.
The successful candidate will present a positive image of SCASD through professional appearance and behavior; management of difficult situations with skill, patience, and diplomacy; and, working collaboratively across the organization. In addition, this individual will demonstrate the ability to exercise good judgment in a variety of situations; strong written and oral communication, administrative, and organizational skills; and the ability to work under pressure and maintain a realistic balance among multiple priorities. The successful candidate will have the ability to work independently on projects and must be able to work under pressure at times to handle a wide variety of activities and confidential matters with discretion.
