About the Role

Job Scope:

The school's Director of Technology fulfills an important organizational role:
- This person is responsible for the effective management of the I.T.
- Program and contributes to policy formation. Together with the management administration, he/she assists with planning, organizing, implementing and evaluating technology and information literacy.
- Integrated instructional professional development programs to improve instruction.

Key Accountabilities:

-Embrace and encourage the ethos and standards of excellence as defined in the GEMS Core Values.
-Establish procedures and time frames to provide students with academic, personal, social, emotional and psychological counseling.
-Identifies and collaborates with curriculum and instruction coordinators to inform best instructional practices, successful staff development practices, integrated technology training, interpersonal skills and organizational skills.
-Hosts and presents workshops and professional training as needed/requested.
-Identifies and evaluates new technological developments and evaluates these for appropriateness in education.
-Leads in collaboration with administration, systems development to ensure effective and productive use of all technical resources.
-Manages IT department to ensure effective operations and support of all stakeholders.
-Provides parent training in use of school technology systems.
-Assists in designing and implementing technical policies and procedures.
-Conceptualizes, launches and delivers multiple IT projects on time and within allocated budget.
-Fosters a collaborative working environment among IT personnel, faculty, staff, suppliers, consultants and partners.
-Communicates with and understands the needs of non-technical clients.
-Interacts with all levels of education and management.
-Lead groups, analyzes situations and needs, and carries out Head of School directives.
-Works closely with GEMS related projects and I.T. developments.
-Manages systems of communication with all stakeholders regarding IT needs, policies and procedures.
-Work with the senior management team to develop experiences and activities which are beneficial for students' holistic development, and which promote responsibility, leadership skills, cooperation and other personal and social skills.
-Ensure the GEMS policies, procedures, and codes of conduct are followed at all times.
-Initiate effort and energy beyond the typical work day, where the tasks require additional commitment.
-Attend staff meetings and serve on committees as required.
-Perform other duties as requested by direct & dotted reporting line managers / supervisors

Qualifications: College degree.

Teacher's training qualification.

Skills: Clear communication skills, verbal and written.
Strong ICT skills.
Excellent time management skills.
Good interpersonal skills.
