    The Grouping Project Manager is responsible for taking a leadership role in implementing the consolidation strategy for each assigned grouping within the Renew My Church Initiative. Each grouping may consist of approximately 3-4 parishes with or without 1-3 schools. This position works as a key member of the RMC Phase 4 - Operation Transitions team. The Manager will manage the consolidation and implementation plan for each assigned grouping of parishes and schools going through the Renew My Church initiative. The Manager provides guidance, counsel, and direction to each parish and school on progress and each grouping implementation plan. It is estimated that the Manager will oversee progress plans on approximately two concurrent groupings a year.

    Responsibilities:
    • Leads and implements a grouping consolidation plan, providing strategic direction, advice, and oversight. Assists local leadership in analyzing best approach through use of tools such as, but not limited to, annual reports, budgets and Parish historical data in order to:
    • Proactively and patiently work through key issues, problems and opportunities to leverage stronger Parish operating performance;
    • Provide strategic administrative support, project management oversight and consultation by facilitating grouping progress reports, financial plans, human resource plans, and facilities plans and making recommendations as necessary;
    • Assimilate information gathered from all sources to help develop a well-informed perspective allowing better diagnosis of root causes of Parish operational and financial challenges;
    • Advise on priority opportunities for improvement in the areas of HR, finance, facilities, and general project management;
    • Assist subject matter experts in evaluating operations against Archdiocesan best practices;
    • Work closely with other department leaders, subject matter experts, and project managers to successfully implement grouping project plans; and Provide grouping level feedback for use in Parish strategic planning.
    • Work with senior leadership and Renew My Church counterparts to implement system wide strategies, action plans, and goals focusing on operations, finance and administration.
    • Manage consolidation plans within groupings and monitor progress; report progress to the Director of Renew My Church Operations.
    • Work closely with other dedicated project leadership including Ministry, Human Resources, Finance, and Facilities.
    • Partner with RMC subject matter experts and local leadership to create measurable administrative strategies and performance goals which will help strengthen the vitality of parishes and schools going through the Renew My Church initiative.
    • Identify grouping project issues and challenges that need senior management attention.
    • Ensure strong communications and understanding between the Pastoral Center, the local bishop, vicariate leaders, pastors and parish leaders.
    • Other duties as assigned.
    Requirements:
    • Undergraduate Degree in business management, project management, or similar field, or equivalent professional experience. MBA or relevant graduate degree a plus
    • 5+ years business or not-for-profit management experience leading successful teams in an improvement environment. Church management experience is a plus.
    • Knowledge of principles of project management and consolidations, financial management, and personnel management.
    • Strong leadership skills; comfort assuming an advisory role with bishops, pastors and parish leaders.
    • Strong interpersonal skills, including an ability to work in parishes that are ethnically, culturally, and economically diverse.
    • Strong planning and organization skills; ability to handle multiple priorities and tasks.
    • Strong oral and written communication skills.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Project and Microsoft Office suite.
    • Proficiency in Spanish, oral and written, a plus.
    • Must demonstrate understanding, respect and support for Catholic Church teaching, mission and values.
