SUSQUEHANNA TOWNSHIP SCHOOL DISTRICT
Position Title: HANNA Cyber Academy Teacher-of-Record (Elementary)
Employee Status: Professional
Length of Work Year: Semester #2 - Supplemental Hourly - outside the teacher workday
Work Hours: 7 to 13 hours per week / Student Caseload (Minimum = 25 / Maximum = 50)
Certification: Elementary Education K-6, Grades PK-4, or Grades 4-8 (Subject Specific)
Reports to: Building Principal and/or Designee
Supervises: None
Job Goal: The HCA Teacher-of-Record is responsible for teaching and providing feedback to students in an online, asynchronous environment through a curriculum provided through an outside virtual platform. Teachers monitor student progress through the Capital Area Online Learning Association (CAOLA) Genius Student Information System (SIS) and work actively with students and parents to advance each child's learning. Teachers assess student learning and employ effective and appropriate online teaching and learning strategies to communicate subject matter to students.

Fundamental Duties:
- Demonstrate knowledge of subject matter through instruction and effective teaching practices.
- Augment course content according to prescribed policies and procedures using appropriate asynchronous/synchronous tools and instructional aids.
- Use multiple student data elements for the purpose of assessing student progress, modifying instruction, improving student learning, and helping students achieve curricular objectives.
- Monitor student academic progress and attendance.
- Maintain a system for accurate and complete record-keeping, grading, and reporting for all student activities, achievement, and attendance.
- Notify school administrators of concerns about student performance and progress.
- Evaluate student learning and provide substantive feedback using online technologies.
- Foster and manage a safe, positive, and respectful online learning environment for the purpose of promoting effective student behavior and success.
- Demonstrate effective online classroom management.
- Adjust instruction and evaluation techniques according to 504 or individual education plan needs.
- Conduct whole group, small group, or individual instructional sessions based on course requirements.
- Communicate effectively with families, as needed.
- Demonstrate a professional commitment to innovation and lifelong learning
