The Media Paraprofessional provides assistance to teachers with classroom organization, management and instructional strategies and provides assistance in the the media center.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provides assistance to teachers with classroom organization, management and instructional strategies.
• Works individually with assigned students to ensure that each student benefits from the assignment or task. Uses learning tools, including computer-based training.
• Monitors students' movement through cafeteria lines. Assists the custodian with cleaning cafeteria.
• Assists teachers with the preparation of boards and wall materials as it relates to daily lesson plans.
• Grades tests or student assignments.
• Makes copies and prints materials for classes.
• Assists administrators and other staff members in the orderly, expedient and safe transition of students from the classroom to the bus area.
• Assists with training volunteers.

Requirements :

EDUCATION:

• 
  High School Diploma or equivalent GED required
  

CERTIFICATION:

• 
  Current GA Paraprofessional Certificate; OR
  
• 
  High School Diploma or equivalent GED AND passed GA paraprofessional assessment; OR
  
• 
  Associate's degree or completed 2 years of study at an institution of higher education.
  

EXPERIENCE:

• 
  Two (2) years of experience with children preferred.
  
  

Compensation :

SALARY RANGE: $13.50

SALARY GRADE: HOURLY
