Specifics:
High school graduate or equivalent. Long clerical assessment required. Must complete pre-employment preparation & assessment workshop. Under general supervision, maintain a school library/media center; assist students and teachers in using library resources and facilities; perform technical library work in the ordering, processing, shelving, issuing and inventory of books and media materials. Maintain library/media center at a site where a certificated librarian or teacher is assigned. Knowledge of Dewey Decimal System, Sears Subject headings and American Library Association filing rules; Proper English usage, grammar, spelling and punctuation; Basic mathematics. One (1) year experience in a public, private, or school library, or experience in the Salinas Union High School District in which the incumbent has acquired the knowledge and abilities listed in the job description.
