REPORTS TO: Facilitator, Judy Center GRADE: 10/ESPBC ($23.83 - $39.38 Hourly Base Pay Scale for Non-Exempt Office Professionals, Clerical, and Classified Employees Represented by ESPBC, 2020-2021 Effective July 1, 2020)

DEFINITION : Provides administrative support to the Facilitator and assistance with the coordination of services to children and families to ensure the Judy Center is fully integrated into the school.

EXAMPLES OF DUTIES :

Assists with all administrative and managerial aspects of the Judy Center programs and services.

Coordinates services to families as outlined in the Judith P. Hoyer Enhancement and Early Education Grant Standards to include family intake, needs assessment, referrals, and home visits.

Provides direct intervention to children and families, facilitating transitions, maintaining case management notes, and preparing reports as required by MSDE.

Develops strategies for increasing program visibility and expansion, including recruitment of families and new family service partners.

Works with participating partners and agencies to provide grant compliant services to families and coordinate monthly case management meetings.

Organizes and promotes healthy meal distribution through partnerships and volunteer organizations. This includes determining family needs, developing partnerships to obtain food, and coordinating distribution of meals while maintaining appropriate documentation.

Works with the Judy Center Facilitator to determine needs, plan, facilitate and evaluate family trainings, events and adult education.

Assists the Judy Center facilitator and classrooms teachers with program accreditation/validation by participating on self-appraisal teams, developing program improvement plans, and assisting with assembly of documentation materials.

Supports families and the school by attending case management, Individualized Education Program (IEP), SST, and faculty meetings as appropriate.

Assists with Judy Center steering committee meetings by providing agenda items, preparing materials, and taking notes. Attends MSDE required meetings.

Performs other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :

Education, Training and Experience :
Associates of Arts degree in Early Childhood Education, Special Education, Human Services, or a related field. Five (5) years' experience in service coordination/case management. Bachelor's degree and/or college coursework in social work is preferred.

Note: Other combination of applicable education, training, and experience which provide the knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to perform effectively in the position, may be considered.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities :
Demonstration of effective organization and communication skills.
Experience and effective management in coordinating services and collaborating with multiple agencies and service providers.
Positive human relations skills demonstrated by the ability to establish effective working relationships with children, families, and staff in an educational setting.
Ability to maintain confidential information and function in a professional manner.

PHYSICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS :
This position includes travel to homes, schools and offices throughout the system and state-wide.

Eligible for membership in the Maryland State Retirement System.

Pre-Employment Requirements:
  • All persons employed by the Baltimore County Public Schools, regular and temporary, are required to be fingerprinted and have a criminal background investigation (State of Maryland, Senate Bill 315, effective October 1, 1986) completed. The fee charged for fingerprinting is $81.00. An identification card will be issued which must be shown prior to employment.
  • Anyone offered employment is required to provide proper identification and documentation of eligibility for employment in the US.
  • If you have military experience you will be asked to provide a copy of DD214.
  • Official transcripts for all higher education must be received prior to hire.
  • Some positions will require employees to undergo a physical examination and/or drug testing.
  • All newly hired personnel must attend a Badges and Benefits session.
  • Additional job verification will be required for salary credit.
