Job Responsibilities

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES Under the direction of the school principal, the special education teacher plans and provides for appropriate learning experiences for students with disabilities in a variety of educational settings. The person in this position is responsible for creating a flexible program and learning environment that provides specialized instruction for students with disabilities, such that the students benefit from the general education curriculum to the greatest extent possible when supported with supplemental aides, accommodations, and other needed supports.

Hours 7:00am-2:20pm, Monday-Friday

Co-teach English 11

Academic Concepts Class

Work with other case managers to maintain compliant IEPs.

Salary Range:
From/To

Substitute Daily Rate: $99.00/per day if licensed

Substitute Long-term Rate: $165.00/per day

To be eligible for the long-term rate of pay, qualified candidates must be licensed in Virginia with an endorsement.
After substituting for 20 consecutive days in this position, the long-term rate will apply upon the 21st day of substituting. The candidate selected for this long-term substitute position will only receive the long-term rate of pay if eligible for this rate (see above).
