Job Description
Para-educator services are required to support students considered to have disabilities on the autism spectrum in various settings within a school. This para-educator will work under the direction of special educators, related service providers, and in collaboration with other para-educators and school-based personnel to meet the goals and objectives of students' IEPs.
Services may include academic support, Applied Behavior Analysis, behavioral support, sensory support and may focus on communication facilitation, guiding the development of social and emotional skills, transitions among school settings, as well as addressing health, hygiene and safety needs of students. Morning, mid-day and end of day check-ins may be required for organizational guidance. Para-educators in this position are asked to review student IEPs with teachers on a regular basis and employ universal precautions related to health and hygiene. Position Type: Full-time
