    SUBSTITUTE Secretarial/Clerical Assistant


    General Statement:

    The Substitute Secretarial/Clerical Assistant will fill in for Board of Education Office Support Staff, Executive Secretaries, or other clerical staff during long-term leaves and vacancies. They will be hired for a particular assignment, and will be paid on an hourly basis at a rate commensurate with experience.

    Qualifications:
    • Ability to be flexible in work assignments, and handle a broad number of clerical and secretarial duties in a school environment.
    • Evidence of ability to work cooperatively with administrators, teachers, other staff members and parents.
    • Superior communication skills (oral and written). Excellant telephone skills.
    • Strong computer skills, including knowlege of Microsoft Office Suite (to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and Visio) and internet research skills.

    Training on Stamford Public Schools' computer systems will be provided upon hire.

    Note: Applicants for this position will be required to attend an interview prior to being hired. Applicants may be required to demonstrate their computer skills prior to being hired. Additionally they will be required to be fingerprinted (Money Order for $13.25 made payable to "Treasurer, State of CT" must be brought to session) and a background check form will be submitted to Department of Children and Families ("DCF"). You will also be required to bring Identification to meet the requirements for completing Form I-9, Employment Eligibility Verfication.
