Westford Elementary School is seeking a dynamic, motivated, and dedicated professional to teach a grade 3 & 4 multi-age classroom starting immediately for the remainder of the 2020-21 school year. This long-term substitute position pays $260/day.

Qualified candidates must hold a valid VT Educator license in Elementary Education. EWSD is committed to considering out of state candidates who are eligible to hold a Vermont educator license but do not yet hold a license in this state. Folks with experience working in another country, ability to fluently speak more than one language, peace corp experience and/or other worldly experience are encouraged to apply to help contribute to a diversity of thinking and grow our organizational practices.

The ideal candidate will also have relevant teaching experience that demonstrates the following:
- Strong commitment to collaboration and the principles of a professional learning community
- Commitment to the success of ALL students, and ability to understand and teach to the various learning styles of students
- The ability to effectively engage students
- Commitment to continuous improvement in the areas of knowledge and professional practice
- Deep knowledge and understanding of the Common Core State Standards in Literacy and Math
- Experience at the primary elementary level preferred
- Knowledge of a balanced literacy approach
- The use of "backwards design" for lesson development
- The use of differentiated instruction to support all students
- The use of formative assessment to provide student feedback and to adjust lesson delivery
- The use of technology to transform teaching and learning
- The use of the Responsive Classroom approach to establish a safe and caring classroom community and the use of a school-wide approach PBIS
- Dedication to providing a safe and respectful learning environment for students
- Excellent teaching, organizational, planning, written and oral communication, and collaboration skills
