PURPOSE OF JOB: Provide assistance with landscaping, gardening and facilities
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: include the following.
Leading tours of Ag facilities
Tending of animals at East
Water, weed, and harvest school gardens
Compost collection from cafeteria waste, turning compost pile
Prepare outdoor spaces for future plantings
Prepare animal habitats for future animals
Preparation for Fall Transplants, propagating plants
Data collection projects
Maintain grounds around AG facilities
Other projects as assigned
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: None
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
95% attendance of higher during 20-21 school year
Actively engaged in all agriculture class activities during 20-21 and 21-22 school years
Strong professional and efficient communication skills
In good academic standing in all courses
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
This job requires that the employee be able to: sit, stand, walk, speak, hear, use hands, fingers, reach with hands and fingers; bend, stoop, lift objects of at least ten pounds.
*TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: March 2021 - July 2022
Intern must have clothing available for outdoor work. (ie. Jeans/Pants, long-sleeve t-shirt, t-shirt, safety glasses, hat, boots/outdoor shoes)
Length of work week:
Typically 2:30pm -5:30pm (unless specific tasks required at different time)
Typically 3 days a week (rotating schedule)
4 hours a day
Duration of Assignment: Beginning: March 2021 - July 2022
Benefits: Temporary, no benefits are provided.
