2021-2022 Middle School Social Studies Teacher Candidate Pool

Atlanta Public Schools is looking for a self motivated Middle School Social Studies Teacher with the ability to ensure student success through differentiated instruction. The candidate must be able to create and maintain a climate that promotes respect- tolerance- and peaceful problem solving for all students and teach Social Science courses. This position reports to the School Principal.

Performance Responsibilities:

-Instructs students through lectures- discussions- visual aids- and other effective teaching methods for student comprehension.

-Prepares lessons and outlines to use in class that effectively cover the material.

-Administers various types of assessments to monitor students performance- behavior and other issues.

-Attends faculty meetings and training sessions.

Requirements :

CERTIFICATION:
Minimum of SRT4-Certification in Middle Grade Social Studies (4-8) or Secondary Social Studies (6-12)

Passed the GACE Program Admissions Assessment

Exemption Eligibility (ACT/SAT scores) and passed the GACE Social Science (6-12) and GACE Educator Ethics Program Entry

EDUCATION:
Bachelor's Degree required with at least a 2.5 GPA

EXPERIENCE:
Zero (0) years of teaching experience

Compensation :

Salary Grade: T4-T7

Salary Range: FY'20 APS Teacher Salary Schedule
