J. J. Flynn Elementary is seeking a passionate and energetic Support Center Coordinator to join a team that is committed to high levels of achievement for all students. This position requires strong organizational and interpersonal skills. The SCC will work closely with the school personnel to support students who are struggling with social, emotional, behavioral, and academic engagement barriers to learning. Knowledge of Restorative Practices is essential.

Required Qualifications and Skills:
  • Bachelor's Degree required.
  • Training in behavior management.
  • A minimum of two years of providing behavioral supports to students in a school environment.
  • Good basic computer skills and experience with word processing programs. Experience with Microsoft Office and Google Suite.
  • Ability to effectively, efficiently, and regularly communicate and work cooperatively with a variety of individuals, including students, peers, subordinates, supervisors, parents, and representatives of outside organizations.
  • Ability to effectively resolve conflicts and handle stress.

Preferred Skills:
  • Training and experience in Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA)
  • Experience in alternative education programs in a public school setting

Essential Duties:

The Student Support Center Coordinator position will work with the principal, teachers, and other support personnel to build positive relationships with school stakeholders, collaborate and communicate effectively through a variety of methods, provide leadership of behavior management and supervision; facilitate the resolution of conflict; plan, organize and manage time and resources, to include but not limited to the following:
  • Management of school behavioral expectations, including attendance classroom alignment with school-wide goals.
  • Collaboration with students, parents, and teachers regarding student-related policies.
  • Collaboration with staff in the creation and alignment of classroom student behavioral expectations and classroom management plans.
  • Ability to serve as a resource to staff regarding student management issues & social-emotional learning.
  • Assist in the development of embedded education alternatives for students in need.
  • Collaborate with special educators in the development of behavioral and social-emotional learning plans.
  • Support the learning of students in the behavioral and social-emotional curriculum.
  • Assist team with review data related to student behavior through the student management system (PowerSchool). Compiles and shares student discipline data regularly to assist the team in making decisions.
  • Serve on PBIS and Restorative Practices team.
  • Attends appropriate meetings regarding student growth and success as needed
  • Assists in the maintenance of the crisis management plan and school safety requirements.

This is a Full-Time position, 8 hours per day, five days per week, normal school hours.
