Essential Job Functions: Under the Supervision of a Certified School Psychologist Supervisor, Intern will demonstrate:
- The ability to work collaboratively with others to optimize student achievement.
- A willingness to participate in staff development opportunities.
- A strong commitment to professional excellence.
Internship experiences will include the following:
- Systems Support
- Supporting efforts to build a responsive system through MTSSParticipating in building based and district level MTSS activities
- Engaging in Data Day activities as part of the a larger MTSS systemSelecting appropriate assessment instrumentsConducting assessments appropriatelyInterpreting assessment information accuratelyScreening/referral/evaluation processReporting assessment data in a clear and concise mannerProviding classroom observationsConducting Early Childhood screenings
- Developing individualized goals and objectives based on assessment results providing long-range student planningFully participating in the IEP process
- Providing consultation and training to staff and parents as neededProviding training for parents and staff as neededParticipating in the development and implementation of mental health preventative strategiesDemonstrating an understanding of individual and group counseling techniques
- Participating with the building Student Services TeamMonitoring implementation of student I.E.P.sManaging and coordinating required paperwork
Qualifications:
- Enrolled in a Master's level school psychology program leading toward state certification/licensure
Reports To: School Psychologist Site Supervisor/Assistant Director of Student Services
Salary Range: $16,000 per intern plus single benefits
