Qualifications:
Any combination of education and experience equivalent to a bachelor's degree in facilities management, construction management, engineering, business administration, or in a related technical specialty field. Five years of progressively more responsible trade's experience, one year of which shall have been with oversight or supervisory responsibilities. Completion of an acceptable apprentice-level maintenance training program preferred. Must have the following FEMA Emergency Management Institute Certifications within six months of employment: Incident Management for Schools; National Incident Command System; Active Shooters; Incident Command for Single Resources, and Initial Action Incidents; IS-100.b: Introduction to Incident Command System, I-100 for Schools; IS-100.SCa: Introduction to the Incident Command System, I-100 for Schools; and IS-700.a: National Incident Management System (NIMS), and Introduction. International Facilities Management Association (IFMA) certification, Facility Management Professional (FMP), or Certified Facilities Manager (CFM) certification or equivalent preferred. Valid driver's license with a good driving record. In-depth knowledge of a broad spectrum of policies, procedures, and guidelines, as well as fundamental concepts, regulations, and practices applicable to facilities management. Knowledge of related national, state, county, local and School Board regulations, directives, policies, and/or codes. Knowledge of the procedures, practices, equipment, inspections, and supplies related to the trades. Knowledge of latest state and federal mandated testing and maintenance related regulations and requirements developed and administered by various public agencies. Knowledge of emergency planning, incident command system and response and recovery actions. Knowledge of crisis management protocols. Knowledge of latest facilities management technology systems including operation of two-way radio equipment. Ability to write clear, concise reports. Ability to read & interpret building blue prints. Ability to work cooperatively in a team setting. Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships throughout the school division and with the public. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
