POSITION: MATH 7-12 TEACHER, 1.0 FTE
STARTING DATE: September 1, 2021
TYPE OF APPOINTMENT: Probationary
QUALIFICATIONS: NYS Certification in Math 7-12
SALARY RANGE: As per negotiated NCTA contract

DESCRIPTION: Responsible for teaching 7-12 math with proven results in student learning, and providing Academic Intervention Services as needed. The teacher will provide instruction and support, ensuring the effective completion of the curriculum for which they are responsible. The teacher will create lesson plans and develop creative forms of instruction to meet the needs of the existing student population. Reports to the building principal.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Creates lesson plans for effective delivery of instruction for students.
2. Provides a diverse perspective when working with students, parents, colleagues, and PLC members.
3. Instructs students effectively through lectures, discussions, class activities, demonstrations and other creative forms of education of the curriculum their courses require and maintain a balance of these different educational strategies.
4. Assesses skills, collects data, monitors student progress, and evaluates growth to make recommendations for instruction and support.
5. Establish and enforce rules for behavior and procedures for maintaining an environment conducive to learning for all students.
6. Conveys knowledge of and enthusiasm for his/her academic discipline to students.
7. Works actively to involve parents in their child's activities and communicates clearly with them.
8. Able to organize and prioritize daily schedule and duties.
9. Performs related duties as required or assigned by administration.
