SALARY : Administrator Salary Scale
WORK YEAR: 260 Days
REPORTS TO : Director of Finance
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Under the general direction of the Director of Finance, the Supervisor of Transportation will ensure that students are picked up from and delivered to their homes in a timely manner that supports their educational needs. The Supervisor of Transportation will work with the contracted bus service and with the bus monitors to ensure that transportation services are delivered in a safe, timely, cost effective manner.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma or equivalent. College degree preferred.
- Five years of paid, verifiable, supervisory level experience.
- Knowledge of VersaTrans transportation software and experience with preparing safe, timely, cost effective student bus routes.
- Experience should also include preparing all set-ups, routing sequencing, student load parameters, and timing of bus routes relative to school start /end times.
- Experience with school transportation systems is preferred.
- Valid Driver's License
KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES, AND SKILLS:
Knowledge of :
- Computer Programs including word, excel and graphing.
- Principles and practices of delivery of transportation services.
- Efficient scheduling of personnel
- VersaTran transportation software
Ability to:
- Work effectively in a team environment with multiple stakeholders.
- Communicate effectively orally and in writing.
- Assess problems and generate and implement solutions that support safe efficient bus service.
Skills:
- Strong organizational skills, using tact, patience, and courtesy.
- Coordinate district-wide curriculum functions.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: (Essential Job Functions)
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Maintain effective audio-visual discrimination and perception needed for making observations, reading and writing, communicating with others, operating assigned equipment. Maintain physical condition appropriate to the performance of assigned duties and responsibilities, which may include frequent standing, sitting, walking, occasionally required to lift up to 24 lbs.
