About the Role

GEMS Saudi International School (GSIS) is currently recruiting a Director of Schools - Boys, to join the team Early 2021.

The Director of Schools serves as the educational leader, responsible for managing the policies, regulations, and procedures to ensure that all students are supervised in a safe learning environment that meets the approved curricula and mission of both GSIS and the Ministry of Education.

Developing the quality of teaching and learning to achieve academic excellence requires that the Director of Schools to work collaboratively to direct and nurture all members of the school staff, and to communicate effectively and establish positive relationships with staff, students, parents, the community and stakeholders.

The Director of Schools provides operational leadership of the school, undertaking the responsibilities for strategic planning, curriculum development, quality assurance, personnel management, scheduling, extracurricular activities, budget management and facility operations. Inherent in the position is the requirement to collaboratively lead the implementation and evaluation of all System and school based Improvement Planning.

As necessary, the Director of School may be required to relieve the position of Superintendent in their absence.

Experience required
Qualifications:
• Bachelor of Education (required)
• Master Degree &/or Doctorate in Education or Leadership (preferable)

Requirements:
• Minimum of 5 years teaching experience
• Minimum of 2 years' experience of leading a school, campus/department and/or as Deputy Principal or Principal

About the School

GEMS Saudi International School will open in September 2020 in the heart of Dammam City, Al Muntazah district.

The school will offer the American Curriculum to 460 students from Pre-K to Grade 9 in year 1 with annual growth to accommodate 3,105 students in successive years.

The campus will have excellent educational facilities such as swimming pool, auditorium of 600 seats, three outdoor playfields, multipurpose hall and specialist rooms such as Radio Room, Cooking Lab, Sewing Lab & English Lab.
