  •   Virtual After School Strings for Middle School Students

    Start date - as soon as possible
    End date - May 14, 2021
    Compensation - $85.00/hour
    Hours - 3 x per week, 3:30 to 5:00 p.m.

    Position Purpose
    To deliver after school orchestra activities for middle school students in order to: develop skills on a chosen instrument, gain an enhanced appreciation for music, build self-esteem through rehearsals and performances. Students will embody the Greenwich Public Schools Vision of the Graduate through music ensemble experiences and community participation.
    Knowledge, Skills, Abilities :
    • Knowledge of current string (Suzuki) and educational pedagogy, as well as differentiated instruction based upon student learning styles.
    • Demonstrates a knowledge, understanding and application of music instruction in the curriculum.
    • Develop student understanding and appreciation of the string family
    • Ability to play an instrument or instruments, conduct students in playing instruments as needed.
    • Ability to instruct students in proper performance etiquette and string instruction and care.
    • Ability to use computer network systems and software applications as needed.
    • Ability to organize and coordinate work.
    • Ability to communicate effectively with students and parents.
    • Ability to engage in self-evaluation with regard to performance and professional growth.
    • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with others contacted in the course of work.
    Certification/Licenc e:
    • CT State Certification Music PK-12 (049)
    Education :
    • Bachelors from an accredited college or university in education discipline applicable to teaching assignment.
    • Master's Degree preferred.
