Position Purpose
To deliver after school band activities for middle school students in order to: develop skills on a chosen instrument, gain an enhanced appreciation for music, build self-esteem through rehearsals and performances. Students will embody the Greenwich Public Schools Vision of the Graduate through music ensemble experiences and community participation.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Demonstrates expertise in knowledge and teaching of instrumental music.
- Has prior experience as a band director. Middle school experience preferred.
- Demonstrates organizational ability and skill in interpersonal relations.
- Ability to play an instrument or instruments, conduct students in playing instruments as needed.
- Ability to use computer network system and software applications as needed (district-issued digital tools, specifically Google Suite, Schoology and others)
- Ability to organize and coordinate work.
- Ability to communicate effectively with students and parents.
- Ability to engage in self-evaluation with regard to performance and professional growth.
- Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with others contacted in the course of work.
- CT State Certification Music PK-12 (049)
- Bachelors from an accredited college or university in education discipline applicable to teaching assignment.
- Master's Degree preferred.
