    English Language Learner Assessment and Data Specialist
    Teacher On Special Assignment


    Responsibilities:
    • Prepares and generates state, federal and local program/student reports
    • Maintains records, write reports, evaluates new testing materials, distributes testing materials, analyzes and interprets test data
    • Completes and updates data maintenance for all students
    • Coordinates all testing administered by the Bilingual Education Department
    • Conducts data analysis of mandated assessments
    • Assesses and evaluates students for Language Dominance Classification (School District Wide)
    • Develops effective ways to maintain record keeping
    • Provides information relative to the reports generated by the Bilingual Education Department
    • Provides professional staff development and teacher coaching on instructional practices and assessment for English Language Learners
    • Other duties as requested by the Bilingual Department Administrator

    Requirements:
    • Connecticut teaching certificate in TESOL or Bilingual Education
    • Demonstrates excellence in teaching English as a Second Language or Bilingual Education with minimum of five years of successful teaching experience
    • Demonstrates knowledge in computer technology and computerized data management systems
    • Thorough knowledge of current research and effective practices for teaching English as Second Language
    • Demonstrate ability to work effectively with teachers, paraprofessional, principals and central office staff
    • Demonstrates ability to complete forms and reports as directed and to submit such materials in a timely manner in order to meet deadlines
    • Demonstrates ability to analyze assessments and other student data as a means for making instructional decisions
    • Ability to travel between schools
    • Knowledge of Connecticut statutes, LAU procedures, philosophy, and objectives of bilingual/bicultural education
    • Experience developing and presenting professional development training
