Special Education Teacher (Moderate/severe)

Sierra foothills academy is seeking high energy, well organized teacher's aides who are interested in K-12 special needs education and are seeking a small school environment.

Special Education Teacher
Plans, organizes and implements daily lessons in accordance with the approved curriculum. Conducts pre and post-testing using standardized tests for each student. As a part of a team, writes and implements goals as outlined in each student's IEP. Responsible for managing student’s behavior. Participates in the identification of students for possible disabilities post intervention phase. Provides direct student instruction. Performs academic assessments. Schedules IEP meetings including 30 day review IEP meetings for all students. Meets special education timeline requirements as specified by education code. Works with Special Education Program Specialists and school support staff to support student instruction. Participates in authorized school district trainings, school events, and meetings. Maintains documentation of communications with students, families, and other services providers. Maintains documentation of daily activities. Completes reports and forms as required. Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned. Skills and Experiences: -Some experience teaching in elementary school or other high-quality educational settings.

REQUIREMENTS:
CALIFORNIA-
Education Specialist Teaching Credential (Clear) PREFERRED

Education Specialist Teaching Credential (Preliminary) REQUIRED
Must be willing to complete Live Scan Evidence of negative TB test required (within 4 years)

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $55,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
