Overall Purpose
The job of After School Program Coordinator is done for the purpose/s of coordinating after school care to include ensuring proper supervision of students and implementation of student activities.

Essential Functions
  • Ensures NON-CCSD personnel complete all necessary employment forms including background checks before being employed in ASP.
  • Works with site Principal to hire non-CCSD employees prior to working.
  • Assists with getting GA Department of Early Care and Learning (DECAL) required background checks completed.
  • Coordinates CPR and First Aid Training for the entire ASP staff as needed.
  • Ensures there is at least one certified teacher on duty during all operating hours.
  • Ensures that all ASP workers clock in and out and time sheets reflect what is on the timesheets.
  • Ensures efficient use of employee resources.
  • Ensures that grading papers, school-day planning and parent teacher conferences are not conducted by paid ASP employees during the after-school program.
  • Submits all payroll documents by required deadline
  • Tracks parent payments for ASP and any other related projects.
  • Communicates status of delinquent payments to Principal.
  • Reports any issues or concerns promptly to Principal.

Marginal Functions
  • Teaching experience preferred
  • High School Diploma or GED Equivalent required, College degree preferred
  • Supervisory experience preferred

Required to perform multiple tasks with a need to occasionally upgrade skills in order to meet changing job conditions. Specific skill based competencies required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include: operating standard office equipment including pertinent software applications; preparing and maintaining accurate records; adhering to safety practices and procedures; and promoting activities and/or events.
  • Knowledge-based Competencies
Required to perform basic math; read a variety of manuals, write documents following prescribed formats, and/or present information to others; and understand complex, multi-step written and oral instructions. Specific knowledge based competencies required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include: concepts of grammar and punctuation; stages of child development and learning styles; age appropriate activities; and school safety and security practices.
  • Ability-based Competencies
Required to schedule activities; collate data; and use job-related equipment. Flexibility is required to work with others; work with data utilizing defined but different processes; and operate equipment using standardized methods. Ability is also required to work with a wide diversity of individuals; work with a variety of data; and utilize specific, job-related equipment. Problem solving is required to identify issues and create action plans. Problem solving with data requires independent interpretation of guidelines; and problem solving with equipment is limited to moderate. Specific ability based competencies required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include: communicating with diverse groups; maintaining confidentiality; setting priorities; working as part of a team; and working with constant interruptions.

Requirements
High school diploma or GED equivalent

Physical Requirements
The usual and customary methods of performing the job's functions require the following physical demands: some lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling, some stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling and significant fine finger dexterity.

Generally the job requires 20% sitting, 40% walking, and 40% standing.
