Assistant Director of School Facilities Operations & Maintenance

RESPONSIBILITY:
  • Assist Director of Facilities and Operations in planning projects, assigning employees to specific cleaning, maintenance, snow removal & other tasks associated with general upkeep and maintenance of school facilities;
  • Inspects tasks performed by outside contractors such as painting, plumbing, electrical, carpentry or other mechanical maintenance or construction work;
  • Coordinates building usage needs and special event set-ups for internal school groups and community groups and assigns custodial and/or maintenance staff as needed;
  • Oversee the maintenance and care of grounds;
  • Inspects buildings, grounds and equipment for possible hazards and safety or fire code violations;
  • Assist Director in preparing annual operating budget.
C.S. QUALIFICATIONS: Preference given to current civil service list. All others must possess an Associate's Degree in School Facilities Management, Engineering, Engineering Technology, Building Construction Technology or a closely related field and one (1) year of work experience where the primary function was in building construction, maintenance, operations or repair work in one or more specialty trades such as plumbing, electrical, carpentry, heating, ventilating and air conditioning installation; or three (3) years of work experience as described above.
