Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health Florida provides intensive therapeutic residential and learning programs and services for children and adolescents. Based in Viera, FL, this position is responsible for providing assistance to students and teachers in making education decision that will enable the students to reach his/her fullest physical, emotional, psychological and behavioral potential.

What is Devereux doing to support and protect the health and safety of our staff during the COVID-19 pandemic?

All Devereux centers have formal infectious-disease and emergency-management plans tailored to specifically address the unique aspects of COVID-19 prevention. Qualifications

Education:

• Master's degree in the field of counseling, social work, psychology, rehabilitation, special education, or human services field required
• Certified as a Guidance Counselor in the state of Florida

Experience:

• Experience working with emotionally challenged individuals in a residential setting is preferred.

Other Requirements:

• Valid Driver's license
• Must be able to complete a three day new hire orientation class (Monday - Wednesday); hours are approximately 9:00am to 5:00pm each day
• Successfully pass pre-employment medical screenings which include: Drug Screen, Physical, Physical Abilities Test, TB Test and Influenza Vaccine
• Devereux requires all individuals interviewing for a position involving contact with children to complete The Diana Screen, a screening that assesses a candidate's understanding of appropriate boundaries between adults and children.
