This is a posting for individuals interested in tutoring Pittsburgh Montessori students. Tutors will work with students and classroom teachers in multiage/multi-grade classroom setting.

For the 2020-21 school year Pittsburgh Public Schools anticipates a potential vacancy in this position for which we are currently encouraging applications.

Reports To : Principal

Salary :
High School Diploma - $10.00 per hour

Bachelor's Degree - $16.00 per hour

PA Teaching Certification - $21.00 per hour.

Qualifications :
Required:
- High school diploma or equivalent.

- City of Pittsburgh residency. Candidates who do not live within the territorial boundaries of the School District of Pittsburgh must establish residence within three calendar months of being employed with the School District of Pittsburgh.

Preferred:
- Previous work experience
- Computer competency
- Excellent oral and written communication skills

Essential Job Functions :
Primary responsibilities include:
-Work with students and classroom teacher in multiage/multigrade classroom setting.

- Assist classroom teacher with day to day classroom functions.

- Assist students with reading, writing, and math skills.

- Work closely with teachers to coordinate instructional strategies.

- Assist in planning, preparing and developing various lessons as directed.

- Assist with parental contact.

- Assist with individual goals setting and measurement.

- Responsible for lunch and recess duty.
