TITLE: Management Information Systems (MIS) User Support Analyst (MUNIS) REPORTS TO: Manager of Financial Systems SUPERVISES: N/A Job Function: Direct and coordinate Management Information System (MIS) support; maintain and produce documentation and reports for users and provide problem resolution; administer security and maintain confidentiality that relates to the MIS for the district. Measures of Success:
- Confidentiality and security is maintained as required for various financial related processes.
- Business processes and procedures are implemented efficiently, minimizing paperwork demands, while following district, state and federal policies/laws and reporting timelines.
- All liability accounts are in compliance with IRS and annual audit requirements.
- Stakeholders remain in compliance with district, state and federal policies/laws through dissemination of information and monitoring of processes and procedures.
- Develop and maintain a strategic approach for meeting the MUNIS, TimeIPS, AESOP, Tax Office development and other needs of the district to support staff by coordinating the work of the MUNIS Support Team
- Design and modify new and existing Structured Query Language (SQL), SQL Server Integrated Services (SSIS), SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS), C# and Visual Basic programs
- Recommend and coordinate the use of business application development platforms and tools to ensure current standards of school business development are maintained
- Assist other developers on the team with complex projects and needs; serve as project leader as required
- Work with the manager of the MUNIS financial systems to identify needs, prioritize the work of the MUNIS Support Team.
- Maintain current knowledge of developments, issues and advancements in computer application hardware and software
- Maintain contact with users to analyze system performance and efficiency; provide training support and consult with users to discuss desired outcomes and user expectations
- Demonstrates the ability to communicate in more than one language or the willingness to learn to communicate in more than one language at the novice level of proficiency.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Maintain regular attendance.
Knowledge and Abilities:
KNOWLEDGE OF:
- Current versions of Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office and other operating systems and desktop applications employed in the district
- Principles and techniques of SQL database structures and computer application coding and development
- Microsoft SQL Server database administration
- TimeIPS and AESOP administration, including the technologies needed for integration into MUNIS Systems.
- Current versions of common business application development languages and tools in a Microsoft environment, including SQL and Informix 4GL, SSRS etc.
- Rapid Application Development (RAD) tools and methodologies
- Use personal computers, devices, cloud and peripherals
- Analyze situations accurately and adopt an effective course of action
- Establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others; meet schedules and timelines
- Plan and organize work independently and with little direct supervision
- Communicate effectively orally and in writing
- Learn new skills quickly and with little supervision using available online resources; take initiative to stay current with the rapidly evolving world of web development
- Attend professional development opportunities as provided by the district
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree
- Three years as a successful MIS user in a school district or three years increasingly responsible programming experience with a school financial system or environmental resource planning (ERP) software.
Physical Demands:
- Work is performed while standing, sitting and/or walking.
- Requires the ability to communicate effectively using speech, vision and hearing.
- Requires the use of hands for simple grasping and fine manipulations.
- Requires bending, squatting, crawling, climbing, reaching.
- Requires the ability to lift, carry, push or pull light weights, up to 30 pounds
- Requires the ability prioritize and manage a schedule tasks and projects
