  • DIRECTOR OF INSTRUCTIONAL TECHNOLOGY The Director of Instructional Technology provides support for the school, its teachers and programs as they develop and implement instructional technology practices. Emphasis is on utilizing the coaching model to partner with teachers around creating plans to support improvement of instructional practices through the implementation of a variety of digital media and tools. The Director is also responsible for coordinating the day-to-day operations of the school's technology infrastructure by serving as the on-site person who directs contracted services to ensure consistent IT functionality for the entire school. The Director reports to the Principal and President.
    Specific responsibilities include:
    • Provide system administrator functions for the following systems; Powerschool, Naviance, Salesforce, WordPress, G suite and MailChimp
    • Purchase, configure and maintain and inventory Chromebooks, iPads and MacBook computers.
    • Support all software used by staff; Microsoft, Apple and Adobe software.
    • Partner with classroom teachers for coaching cycles focused on supporting the instructional technology goals of the teacher
    • Promote school-wide utilization of technology tools in multiple ways: programmed learning, skills in isolation, project-based learning, simulations, tutorials, multimedia presentations, video conferencing, etc.
    • Assist teachers with infusing many forms of technology into content-area instruction to meet the diverse needs of students
    • Model lesson design, collaboration, and instruction to support teacher skill development
    • Provide staff development around technology tools with follow-up to support implementation
    • Keep current with trends in professional development and classroom practices in the area of instructional technology
    • Develop and implement a structured plan to support integration of instructional technology through the coaching model
    • Supervise on-campus Tech Support to ensure proper management of current systems including hardware and software troubleshooting, wireless accessibility, firewall issues and maintenance, as well as the school's use of Gmail, Google Docs and Google apps for education.
    • Serve as the main coordinator of annual eRate filings, ensuring appropriate document preparation, submission and other reporting.
    • Refine current IT plan including our new cloud-based computing strategy in collaboration with Principal, Director of Corporate Work Study (CWSP), President and other constituents.
    • Make recommendations for and assume management of projects to improve technology infrastructure and appropriate usage of technology to advance the mission of the school.
    • Provide technical and instructional support for CWSP student technology training
    • Ensure proper maintenance of the school's alarm and phone systems.
    • Serve as the school's primary contact for Food services and reporting.
    • Undertake special projects as assigned like managing the data migration as the school moves to its own stand-alone Powerschool platform.
    • Serve as the technology advisor and implementer for Development events, student standardized testing, CWSP and Summer Bridge programs and other events as needed.
    • Provide support for students and faculty related to on-line courses such as the Gradpoint.
    • Ability to build relationships, engage in critical conversations, and maintain a professional and positive attitude
