Countryside is a nonprofit, nonsectarian, independent school, accredited by the Independent Schools Association of the Central States (ISACS), serving 150 students in grades K-8
The Head of School position is a full-time position with benefits. Salary is commensurate with experience and qualifications. The expected start date is July 1, 2021. The main responsibilities of the Head are:
Embody, manifest, and advocate the philosophy and mission of the school
Demonstrate knowledge of research on innovation and best practices in K-8 education and a commitment to articulating and implementing those in the independent school setting
Understand, monitor, and address all matters of school climate and culture as they relate to students, staff, and faculty
Nurture the respectful spirit and compassionate behavior of the Countryside community
Work collaboratively with the Board governance structure
Represent the school with integrity and a positive attitude to all of its constituents, including parents, students, alumni, faculty, staff, external community, and agencies related to government, education, and accreditation

Master’s degree or higher in education or related field
