Qualifications Required:
  • Candidates must possess New York State Certification as a School District Administrator (SDA)
    or School District Leader (SDL)
  • Minimum 5 years of experience with students with disabilities
  • Minimum of 2 years administrative experience

  • Must be able to travel by vehicle across the region

  • Must be available and visible for BOCES and community events throughout the BOCES region as requested by Director of Alternative & Special Education.
Responsibilities Include:

Community Representation:
Represent E 2 CCB when working collaboratively with component district personnel and community agencies. Meeting Participation - Regional Curriculum Council, BOE meetings, Mentor-Intern, Curriculum Council, Special Education Advisory Council (SEAC) and the Regional BOCES Director's Meetings (Quarterly)
Curriculum and Instruction:
Assist in facilitating ongoing curriculum development, specifically in the areas of literacy and math instruction. Coordinate the purchasing of K-12 related curriculum materials, manager/monitor STAR enrollments, analyze all student data and implement strategies based on evidence based research practices and oversee specially designed instruction.
Assessments:
Supervise administration of testing including but not limited to, exam ordering, long term planning and implementation of assessments for all 3-8 tests, Regents and NYSAA testing.
Compliance:
Review all schedules of BOCES staff to ensure compliance between schedules, class lists and billing on a monthly basis.
Budgeting:
Assist with developing, interpreting, and monitoring BOCES-wide CO-SER budgets as well as evaluating costs associated with the delivery of services.
BOCES Intake Procedures:
Serve the role of intake coordinator for the special education division, conducting site visits, engaging in staffing and intake meetings to ensure appropriateness of placements and consistency in programming and services.
Site Visitations:
Monthly meetings with supervisors/principals to work on standard operating procedures and other metrics
as determined by the director of alternative and special education. Oversee all Site Study Teams, provide continuous professional development, while using progress monitoring to ensure fidelity.

APPR:
Responsible for reviewing all BOCES rosters and student learning objectives for accuracy, STAR testing
and yearly APPR wrap-up. Responsible for all maintenance and coordination of the StaffTrac system. Assist with the supervision and evaluation of staff based on the Charlotte Danielson model. Provide program guidance and support to supervisors in the evaluation of teachers and support staff.

Hiring:
Hire all administrative, teaching, clerical staff and attend all recruitment events as determined by the
Director of Alternative and Special Education.

Professional Development:
Assess, plan and implement professional development in relation to the BOCES professional development plan and participate in development of Superintendent's conference days.

Programmatic Planning:
Support the coordination of academic school year and special education summer school planning and implementation.
