    • Valid Illinois Professional Educator License

    • Middle School Endorsement and Science and/or Social Studies Endorsement

    • Proven ability to apply content knowledge and pedagogy, formative assessment, and technology integration at a high level

    • Previous experience and skills as requested by building principal

    Essential Functions & Responsibilities

    To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily. This position requires regular collaboration with various school teacher teams. The requirements listed are representative of the knowledge, skill, ability, physical demands and working conditions required of this position.
    • Demonstrate support for the Mission, Vision, and Goals of the Oak Lawn-Hometown School District 123

    • Uphold the established Board of Education policies, regulations, and administrative procedures

    • Plan and implement appropriate instruction using methods and materials which are most appropriate for meeting district goals and objectives

    • Evaluate students on a regular basis and provide reports as required

    • Create a classroom and school environment that is conducive to learning and is age appropriate

    • Communicate and collaborate with colleagues, students, parents, and the community as needed to meet professional standards and advance student learning

    • Maintain and improve professional competence

    • Participate in meetings and perform other responsibilities as assigned by the principal or designee in accordance with the Board of Education

    • Ability to sit/stand for prolonged periods of time

    • Apply student learning theory, brain-based learning, and differentiated instruction

    • Utilize technology to promote learning, creativity, collaboration

    • Regular attendance and/or physical presence at the job

    Evaluation

    Performance in this position will be evaluated by the Building Principal in accordance with the Board of Education's policy on Evaluation of Professional Personnel.
