Specifics:
High school graduate or equivalent supplemented by training or coursework in automobile equipment repair, servicing and maintenance or a closely related field. 48 college semester units (must attach official sealed transcripts); or Associate of Arts degree or higher required and verifications must be attached to submitted application. Must complete pre-employment assessment. Under supervision, tutor or assist students in vocational automotive repair classes; make inspections and recommend routine mechanical repairs to ROP vans and other vehicles; order monitor student operation of tool room; and perform related worked as required. Assist certificated staff in preparation of automotive repair related instructional materials; Inspect tools and monitor student operation of tool room; Service and perform routine mechanical maintenance of school vans and other vehicles; fuel vehicles; check vehicles for proper operation of safety equipment.; Perform minor and major tune-ups, align front ends, balance tires, replace and adjust brakes and refer repair needs to instructor or students; Keep vehicles, shop, tools and equipment in clean and orderly condition. Moderate to heavy labor; exposure to grease, oil and solvents. Acceptable driving record and qualification for insurability by the District's insurance carrier.
