OVERVIEW

Gateway-Longview is seeking its next Vice President of Educational Services to lead Gateway-Longview's K-12 Lynde Day School, Residential Education and Therapeutic Preschool in education development, implementing initiatives that support student engagement, promote family involvement, insure services are culturally competent and support Gateway-Longview's mission to protect, to give hope and to enrich the lives and every child and family served.

Gateway Longview's educational programs include students facing severe behavioral, emotional and/or social challenges. This is a unique opportunity for an exceptional leader who has experience in education working effectively with clients, families, staff and community stakeholders from a variety of cultural and ethnic backgrounds.

Headquartered in Williamsville, NY, Gateway-Longview is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit human services organization that provides comprehensive programs focused on behavioral health, community-based services, residential treatment, and special education programs to nearly 5,000 children and families annually throughout Western New York.

CURRENT CIRCUMSTANCES
This position is to fill a vacancy from a retirement.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITY

The Vice President of Educational Services will report to the President/CEO and work in the agency leadership team. In collaboration with the President/CEO, the Board of Directors, and members of the Agency and New View Alliance Affiliation Leadership Teams, this position will effectively lead the organization as required to support the staff and advance the mission. This includes promoting and attending other department initiatives and agency-wide events; serving on agency committees; contributing to strategic deliverables; attending BOD meetings; participating in and endorsing the parent-affiliate activities. This further includes demonstrating the core values of the organization with all stakeholders within and outside the organization.

Program Development: Maintain current knowledge in new developments in education; implement initiatives that support student engagement and promote family involvement; ensure services are culturally and linguistically competent; establish and maintain liaison with school districts, BOCES, State Education Departments; expand the scope of programs and services to meet community need.

Program Administration: Assure compliance with all NYSED laws and regulations; oversee the budget, purchase of goods and services, expenditure of district funds; execute reports, contracts and grants; implement agency-wide policies and procedures; represent the agency in local and statewide meetings and coalitions as required.

Program Quality: Ensure the highest standards of service delivery; keep informed of modern educational thoughts and best practices; promote opportunities for ongoing professional development; incorporate performance data into staff evaluations, department meetings, and New View Affiliate meetings for continuous quality improvement.

Personnel: Ensure consistent application of Agency personnel policies; maintain continuity of competent administration, teaching and counseling personnel; effectively train, supervise, evaluate, and motivate key subordinates; uphold credentialing requirements of staff; respond to employee feedback from stay and exit interviews; recognize the contributions of quality staff to promote morale and staff retention; participate in union negations; develop a succession plan for key positions and transfer of information.

Oversee other agency programs and initiatives as required

QUALIFICATIONS

We require that the new Vice President of Educational Services have a sophisticated understanding of the social, educational and health care issues facing students and their families. Masters in education field with applicable NYSED certification as school leader required along with pertinent experience in educational administration. Ability to work effectively with clients, families, staff and community contacts from a variety of cultural and ethnic backgrounds. NYS SAS certification.
