Job Description:
Camelot Education, a leader in providing special education services, is recruiting creative, compassionate and caring individuals to join our team. We are seeking Special Education Teachers for Belvidere, IL campus. Students are supported by a team of professionals that include School Administrators, Special Education Teachers and Teaching Assistants, Therapists and Related Service Providers, such as OT and SLP.
Camelot at Belvidere provides education programs for students ages 3 through 21 with Specific Learning Disabilities, Emotional Needs, Other Health Impairments, Autism and Intellectual Disabilities.
The Special Education Teacher plans and provides for appropriate learning experiences for students with disabilities. The teacher provides academic instruction in a self-contained classroom setting and is responsible for the overall management of the classroom. The teacher will work as part of an interdisciplinary team ensuring that a student's IEP goals are being met. Experience and Skills:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
- Current Illinois Professional Educator License with Special Education endorsement
- One year experience working with children and adolescent preferred
- Experience working with students with special needs preferred
- Proven ability and working knowledge with Microsoft software applications, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
