Washington Central Unified Union School District is recruiting a Director of Information Technology to provide leadership, strategic thinking and business acumen to work across the organization to define and drive the technology strategy and vision regarding infrastructure and architecture, vendor selection, application development and service management that supports the successful execution of our business strategy. To direct, maintain, and enhance a technology infrastructure that includes educational technology integration, network administration, and data management consistent with recommended best practices in order to provide a secure, responsive, and evolving technological foundation for 1) continuously improving student learning and academic achievement through the utilization of contemporary technological tools; 2) maximizing systems effectiveness and efficiency; and 3) overseeing and coordinating educational technology initiatives that enhance both teaching and learning.

Responsible for District Technology program through direct planning and implementation of systems and educational uses of technology; manage programming functions for system support; assisting leadership in goals related to technology instruction; collaborating with WCUUSD Administrative Team in establishing and meeting actions steps in continuous technology improvement; prioritizing technology functions; managing budget and procurement process of technology needs; manage training, supervising and evaluation technology team and specialists; report to policy groups and school board as appropriate; develop application strategies leveraging technologies to deliver exceptional student and educator experiences; the lead technology resource and advisor to district; maintain a communications network with the union and district; provide in-service training; assist staff in running technology programs; provide recommendations of technology-related coursework; oversee district equipment and inventory; and other duties as may be required.

Bachelor's Degree or higher in Computer Science or related field plus 5 years of educational experience and 5 years of networking experience in a multi operating system environment.  OR a combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and skills are acquired.  Minimum of 5 years' supervisory experience.

Eligible for or holds a valid Vermont Professional Educators License with Supervisors endorsement. Educational Technologist endorsement preferred.
