Description:

Collaborate with the PreK - 5 Curriculum Coordinator and 6-12 Social Studies Coordinator to:

• Create parent-facing Curriculum at a Glance Documents for existing K-5 SS curriculum;
• Create asynchronous lessons and learning experiences for all K-5 students to complete at home, under parent supervision;
• Design the following for each unit and each grade (3 units each):
  • Video lessons / overviews
  • Cull electronic resources to align with curriculum
  • Optional field trips (virtual and real life)
• Build and maintain a google site (or other virtual platform) for parent and student access to curriculum;
• Operates from one of the elementary schools.

Qualifications:

• CT Certification with elementary grade endorsements required;
• Experience using the Understanding by Design approach to writing curriculum;

• Understanding of the Connecticut C3 Social Studies Framework and the National Curriculum Standards for Social Studies;
• Understanding of the Common Core State Standards for English Language Arts;
• Strong educational technology skills including:
  • Google Classroom
  • Google Sites
  • Recording instructional videos

Salary: According to the Teachers' contract (2019-2022)
