National Heritage Academies is looking for an extremely motivated Production Artist/Print Production Specialist to join the Creative Department. Your Role

  • Reports to and works closely with the creative director and freelance graphic designers to execute design
  • Design education, training, or experience required
  • Knowledge of principles of design, including layout, typography, color, balance, composition, and current design trends
  • Based on experience and proven ability, develop and create new concepts
  • Create and adapt design templates to meet various needs
  • Consistently apply and enforce style/brand guidelines.
  • May produce presentations and other creative print media based on content prepared by marketing dept. - familiarity with power point a plus
  • Responsible for archiving and updating graphic files
  • Responsible for maintaining photo/creative asset library
  • Must be knowledgeable in pre-press and commonly used printing concepts, practices, standards, processes, and procedures
  • Oversee print production
  • Responsible for scheduling, tracking, and producing all print jobs
  • Report on use of materials, monitor customer orders, postproduction schedules, and calculate production rates
  • Coordinate print production schedules, print specifications, and cost analysis reports for internal budget approval
  • Initiate requests for bids, quotes, and purchase orders
  • Expected to rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals
  • At all times, continually improve the quality of design and production and ensure that brand standards are met


Requirements

  • Must know how to create art to support digital campaigns, familiarity with requirements of HTML
  • Familiar with working in mass printing, apparel, merchandise, and novelty items
  • Other technical duties may include scaling, cropping, retouching, repositioning and preflighting, or eliminating defective imaging
  • Expertise in Adobe Creative Suite 5.5 - Illustrator, Photoshop, In Design, Acrobat
  • Ability to work with various graphic formats for print and web, knowledge of optimal format to use based on the application
  • Able to recognize and attend to important details with accuracy and efficiency
  • Can work constructively under stress in a fast paced, multi-tasking environment
  • Ability to learn from and handle feedback
  • Must be able to take direction, as well as conceptualize, design, and organize projects
  • Great proofreading skills are a must
  • Excellent organizational/communication skills, also a must
  • Ability to provide exceptional customer service to departments both internally and in the field
  • Familiarity with production requirements and working with outside vendors, i.e. printers, exhibit vendors, other agencies.
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines
  • Must be a team player
  • Must be knowledgeable in pre-press and commonly used printing concepts, practices, standards, processes, and procedures
  • Could be asked to perform a variety of project-related tasks
