Under the direction of the Education Delivery Manager, provide training, mentoring, and ongoing support to the Early Childhood (Pre-Kindergarten/Head Start) teachers and educational assistants.

Reports To : Educ Deliv Manager, Prgrm Officer, and Exec Direct

Salary :
Preschool Teacher II Salary Schedule, level 4 (starting at $43, 230 per year)

FLSA Status: Exempt

Qualifications :
- A Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education with Pennsylvania certification in Early Childhood is required.

- Master's Degree preferred.

- A minimum of five (5) years of satisfactory teaching experience in early childhood or preschool programs.

- Experience in a mentoring or coaching position preferred.

- Applicants must also have knowledge of exemplary programs for young children and families.

Competencies:
Education and Training - Knowledge of principles and methods for curriculum and training design, teaching and instruction for individuals and groups, and the measurement of training effects.

Law and Government - Adherence to the Pennsylvania School Code, Pennsylvania Loyalty Act and No Child Left Behind Act.

Administration and Management - Knowledge of resource allocation, human resources modeling, leadership technique, and coordination of people and resources.

Customer and Personal Service - Knowledge of principles and processes or providing customer and personal services.

Psychology - Knowledge of human behavior and performance; individual differences in ability, personality, and interests; learning and motivation; and assessments.

Stakeholder Relations - The ability and willingness to interact and communicate effectively with stakeholders.

Essential Job Functions :
1. Monitors classroom instruction for developmentally appropriate practices and provides feedback to teachers and education assistants.

2. Conducts in-class demonstrations by modeling developmentally appropriate educational practices and research-based best practices.

3. Supports the classroom staff with student and class-wide behavior plans.

4. Supports the classroom with the implementation of the district approved Early Childhood Education Program curriculum.

5. Maintains documentation of support provided to staff and helps to develops curriculum & individual goals.

6. Ensures that classrooms are properly equipped and have adequate supplies.

7. Ensures that classrooms are exhibiting quality as evidenced by the ECERS, CLASS, or other tools.

8. Monitors classrooms, lesson plans, and anecdotal notes/evidence to adhere to District and ECE Program requirements.

9. Adheres to, and supports teaching staff in adhering to, the Head Start Performance Standards, the Head Start Act, and/or the Pennsylvania Pre-K Counts Regulations and Guidance.

10. Supports the classroom staff with the completion of screenings and assessments for children within 45 days of enrollment and throughout the program year as needed.

11. Provides information requested by Educational Delivery Manager, Program Officer, and Executive Director.

12. Plans and provides professional learning/development as needed.

13. Attends regular professional development training.

14. Replaces classroom teachers or assistant teachers when necessary.

15. Supports with classroom staff call-offs and substitute assignments as needed.

16. Performs other duties as assigned by the Educational Delivery Manager, Program Officer, and Executive Director.

Physical Demands: Employee will be required to operate computer system for data entry, and have the ability to complete necessary paperwork. Must be able to travel from one location to another to visit classrooms. This position requires minimum physical effort and not subjected to Occupational Health and Safety risks.

Work Environment:
1. Indoors in busy office or classroom, working in close proximity to co-workers and teaching staff.
2. Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation (personal vehicle) to travel from one location to another to visit classrooms.
3. Frequently required to work at fast pace.
4. Requires considerable concentration and creativity.
5. Subject to stress caused by a changing environment, diversity in the organization, tight deadlines and work load.
