The Math Interventionist works with “At-Risk” Math students identified by their general education Math teacher to help remediate students who are behind grade level in Math.

Essential Functions: Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential duties.
  • Modifies and/or adapts the K12 curriculum in alignment with the state’s content standards to meet the unique needs of each student;
  • Collaborates with general education teachers to meet the goals of the targeted students through individualized and small group sessions;
  • Educates parents on various instructional strategies;
  • Prepares appropriate documentation on interventions;
  • Proctors achievement and other required testing to students including alternative assessments if required.

Supervisory Responsibilities: This position has no formal supervisory responsibilities.

If selected, you will participate in a year-long, comprehensive new teacher training and induction program that includes learning about K12 resources, our culture and how to work on our platforms. This program provides an opportunity to meet colleagues and learn the responsibilities required for delivering curriculum in an online environment.You will also learn how to monitor student progress through K12’s learning management system, and to be a partner actively working with students and parents to advance each child’s learning.

Minimum Required Qualifications:
  • Must live in Michigan
  • Attach a PDF or JPG of your Michigan elementary teaching license to your K12 profile docs.
  • Minimum of one year of classroom experience OR
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience

Certificates and Licenses:
  • Attach a PDF or JPG of your Michigan elementary certification to your K12 profile docs.
  • Must live anywhere in the state of Michigan
  • Must meet HQ requirements of grade levels served

Other Required Qualifications:
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills, presentation skills, and the ability to work without direct supervision
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel); Web proficiency
  • Flexible schedule with ability to travel up to 10% of the time for meetings, etc.
  • Ability to pass required background check

Desired Qualifications:
  • Experience working with “At Risk” students.

  • This is a home-based position in Michigan with some in-person events throughout the year.
