SUPERINTENDENT OF SCHOOLS

The Board of Education of the Arlington Central School District (www.arlingtonschools.org) is seeking a proven leader, of unquestioned integrity, with an established record of improving instruction and student outcomes, closing achievement gaps, and supporting equitable opportunities for all students.

Essential Qualifications:

Successful experience as a superintendent preferred;senior-level central office and building-level leadership experience as well as Pk-12 teaching/pupil services experience are required. Earned doctorate preferred. Residency preferred; strong, visible presence in the schools and community required. NYS SDA or SDL certification required.

Following a review of the online survey results and input from 20 focus groups, the below related qualifications have been identified. The next Superintendent must demonstrate a “track record” with the regard to the following traits, characteristics and skills:

▪ Engage and committed to a well-rounded program to meet the diverse interests and needs of all students

▪ Effective communicator with internal and external stakeholders The Board of Education is committed to recruiting and selecting a candidate who best meets the above qualifications.

Application Process:

The application and a description of the selection process to be posted to wnyesc.org on/about September 28. Applications must be received by 3:00 pm on November 20. This is a confidential (closed) search. Letters of reference and a list of references who can be contacted will be required as part of the candidate vetting process. All candidates are notified upon receiving their application.

Compensation: A regionally competitive salary and benefits package will be offered.

Interview Schedule (subject to change):

December 8, 8:00 a.m.-6:00 p.m., semi-finalists

December 17, 5:00-10:00 p.m., finalists
