Description:
The aim of Montessori education is to foster competent, responsible, adaptive scholars who are lifelong learners and problem solvers. Montessori classrooms are equipped with a diverse set of materials, which are designed to foster physical, intellectual, creative, and social independence. The classroom atmosphere encourages social interaction for cooperative learning, peer teaching and emotional development. Learning occurs in an inquiring, cooperative, nurturing atmosphere, where students increase their own knowledge through self-initiated experiences under the guidance of trained adults.

The Substitute Instructional Aide will work on a per diem basis under the direct supervision of the classroom teacher to create a learning environment where each student feels valued and can progress at an optimal rate, developing a strong sense of self and a healthy respect for others in a diverse community. The Substitute Instructional Aide will be responsible for providing the social/emotional and academic support for a diverse group of learners.

Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor's degree or higher. Previous Montessori training or experience preferred.
